I had been reading the old King James Version of the Bible, trying to make sure
that all I had to believe that Jesus died for my sins, which in fact He did. I remember getting a friend to start coming to church. He later made a profession of faith. A few months later he told me he was going back to his old ways. “Why?” I asked. He told me that the preacher and deacons were going around saying “Once saved, always saved,” so he saw no need in staying in church. I couldn’t say anything, because I had been told the same thing, even though I had my doubts. I had about worn the King James Bible out, and could not prove them wrong, so I said that I would just stop going myself. I became very troubled over this. The Holy Spirit led me to a new Bible that had just come on the scene called the New International Version. Wow, were my eyes opened! I had to drive a hundred miles to find this Bible. Now they are available in nearly every book store and in most department stores. This Bible, too, I started reading from cover to cover. For a long time I read both the NIV and KJ versions. I could not believe how everything was brought to light. No doubt, I started back to church, trying to convince people to stop guaranteeing salvation. Leave that to God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, but I was getting nowhere.
After I was grown, I found out that many years before I was born; my mother was excommunicated from the church because she went to a dance. That would be a laugh today! When I was a teenager I started going to church regularly, and so did my parents. We attended a Baptist church, the one that they had been going to in the past, which had our family cemetery. Probably the reason most people went to this church, was because the preacher and deacons would guarantee salvation. It sounded good.
For many years I started writing short stories, but I couldn’t find the right words until I read a book on the life of Billy Sunday. Then things began to fall into place. Religion has been so watered down for the last 50 – 75 years. Today there is probably 75-80% Christians who are lukewarm and sitting straddle of the fence, thinking it is OK to go either way. Jesus himself calls these Christians lukewarm. They feel that since their salvation is guaranteed, they think that they can pretty well live like they want to. If they were to go deeper into God’s word, then they would know that He said He would spew them out of His mouth.
God made us for His fellowship. He made the earth and everything therein, so we would have a place to stay while we worship and serve Him. But a bunch of His angels started rebelling against Him, so He had to throw them out of heaven. Now, if He threw them out of heaven because they rebelled against Him, do you think it will be that easy for us to go to heaven? Does that sound like all we have to do is believe? According to God’s word, these demons believe and shudder.
The only way your salvation is guaranteed is not only believing that Jesus died for our sins, but that we have to take up His cross daily, and follow Him. We do this by reading the Bible daily, going deeper into the Bible with the help of the Holy Spirit, and if we fall down, we need to get up, dust
ourselves off spiritually, and start following Jesus again. Remember, He died for our sins, not our commitments. We have to get off milk and start on solid food, which is God’s word. Get down off the fence, and start following Jesus. God planned for us to stay on earth and have daily fellowship with Him forever, but because of sin, this all changed. By the way, He put each one of us here at His own time and place, so we would have the choice and opportunity to come back to Him if we so choose. See, we thought our parents planned it.
No matter whether you knew your Dad, or were born out of wedlock, because of rape, or any other reason, it was still God’s choice for you to be here at this time and place. God put His Spirit and soul in you, and He wants you to come live with Him forever.
When I started reading the NIV, a man who I had never seen, or have never seen since, stopped by my place of business and told me that I would be going deep into God’s word. I thought to myself how does this stranger know what I will do? But he was right. I have been going deeper into God’s word ever since.
God’s chosen people were the Jews, but after years and years of rejection, He gave us Gentiles an opportunity. We are ingrafted branches to make the Jews jealous. So after Jesus came and died for our sins, God sent Paul to teach and lead the Gentiles. He, by the power of the Holy Spirit, wrote nearly half of the books of the New Testament. My prayer is that by sharing some of Paul’s letters, you might have a better understanding of God and what salvation is about.
Paul wrote: Romans, I and II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I
and II Thessalonians, I and II Timothy, and Titus.
All of the following scripture is taken from the New International Version Bible.
Read the following 95 verses daily, and be obedient to what it says.
Then, if you don't make it to Heaven, don't blame me.
share this with your family and friends, and lay up treasures in Heaven.
If you read these 95 verses every day, and be obedient to what it says till Jesus sends for your soul, and keep a prayer in your heart for your loved ones and friends daily, then you will be sending rewards to Heaven to be waiting for you.
Romans 2:7
7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
We have to seek Jesus and never give up. We are only here to serve God. What part of going to heaven to live forever in Paradise with our God and Savior, do we not understand? Do we read the Bible every day? At least one chapter? Do we keep a prayer in our heart? Do we seek Jesus with all of our heart, mind, body, and strength? Do we take time to be God’s servant daily? If we don’t seek and find Jesus, and get our minds off earthly things, and on to heavenly things, maybe we don’t have faith. Maybe we are not concerned about heaven. I don’t think there will be a reward in hell. Keep doing hellish things according to God’s word; you will find out.
Romans 6:2
2 By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
Romans 6:11
11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
We have to die to sin, and come alive to God through Jesus. We must be born again.
Romans 8:12-13
12 Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.
13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,
We have to resist Satan and our sinful nature, and run from it. We have to put our sinful nature to death with the help of the Holy Spirit in order to live forever.
Romans 11:11-24
11 Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.
12 But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring!
13 I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I make much of my ministry 14 in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them.
15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
16 If the part of the dough offered as first fruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,
18 do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
19 You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in."
20 Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.
21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
22 Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.
23 And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
24 After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
We are ingrafted branches only because the Jews, God’s chosen people, rejected Him. We have to stay with God through Jesus by the help of the Holy Spirit, or we will be plucked out and thrown into hell.
Romans 12:1
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.
Our bodies are to be a living sacrifice for God. It takes dedication and training.
Romans 12:9
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
We have to put forth an effort to hate evil, and cling to what is good.
1 Corinthians 3:16
16Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?
Live for God, and He will live in you.
1 Corinthians 6:13
13 "Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"—but God will destroy them both.
The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
1 Corinthians 6:18
18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.
Sexual sin will destroy our fellowship with God.
1 Corinthians 10: 11-13
11 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the fulfillment of the ages has come.
12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!
13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
Paul tells us that if we should fall down spiritually while serving God, that God will show us a way out. When tempted, turn to Jesus and the blood, and Satan will flee from you. You are not saved only because you believe, remember demons believe and they are hell-bound. Faith without works is dead. You will find out it is hard work to fight temptation. God looks at the heart. We have to control our thoughts before they get to our heart.
1 Corinthians 15:58
58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Stay fully focused on God, and don’t let anything move you.
Galatians 5:16
16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
A spirit-filled Christian, who feeds on God’s word, can walk away from temptation that so easily entangles us.
Galatians 5:25
25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
We can live by the Spirit by seeking God through His word.
Galatians 6:1
1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.
Watch yourself closely. Remember, without holiness, no one will see the Lord.
Ephesians 4:22-24
22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds;
24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
God wants us to strive for perfection, even though we are not perfect.
Ephesians 5:15
15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,
If we live for the devil, we will wind up in hell.
Philippians 2:12
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, Faith without works is dead.
We have to work at salvation daily and avoid sin temptation daily. Let us consider ourselves in training. If we don’t give up, we will receive a reward and spend eternity with God.
Colossians 2:6
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him,
Jesus came and died for our sins and laid a spiritual pathway back to heaven. He says the road is narrow, but we must follow it. The Bible is a road map.
Colossians 3:2-3
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
We can not sit straddle the fence. We are either on our way to heaven or hell.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-4
3 It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;
4 that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable,
God will give us a way out, but we have to avoid sin. If we resist the devil, he will flee from us. We have to control our bodies.
1 Thessalonians 5:6
6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-17
16 Be joyful always;
17 pray continually;
1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
21 Test everything. Hold on to the good.
22 Avoid every kind of evil.
Keep a prayer in your heart. Keep evil out of your life, and hold on to good.
2 Thessalonians 2:10
10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing.
They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
2 Thessalonians 2:15
15 So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
We have to get involved in the Bible, which is God’s word, and learn to love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, body, and strength, and love our neighbor as ourselves. These are God’s two greatest commandments. We have to hold onto this with all of our strength.
1 Timothy 4:16
16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
Paul warns preachers along with Christians to get close to God through Jesus with the help of the Holy Spirit, and stay close. Stay away from evil. We have a responsibility to warn others to do the same. Jesus died for our sins. We have a responsibility to strive for perfection with the help of the Holy Spirit. We have to make sure that we are walking in the light. No one else can do this for us. All they can do is warn us. God wants perfection, and we have to strive for it. We were all born in sin. That is the reason we have to be born again. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
1 Timothy 5:22
22 Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others.
Keep yourself pure. If we share in the sins of others, we will wind up in hell with others.
2 Timothy 2:11-13
11 Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us;
13 if we are faithless, He will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
It seems sometimes God is picking and choosing who He will spend eternity with. But really it is us who choose each day who we will serve. We have to come to God and stay with God with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Titus 1:16
16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
The Word says that you can tell a tree by the fruit it bears.
Titus 2:11-13
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.
12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live selfcontrolled, upright and godly lives in this present age,
13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
The Bible, God’s word, teaches us right from wrong. He only expects right and is willing to help us stay right. The difference between heaven and hell is left up to us.
Titus 3:14
14 Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives.
Hebrews 1:14
14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
We have guardian angels all around us to protect us, encourage us, and help us to walk away from sin and harm.
Hebrews 2:1
1 We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.
We either go with God, or go with Satan every day. We have to choose. I know most denominations do not teach that, but denominations won’t get you to heaven. Read your Bible daily, seek God daily, and He will show you the way, without any question.
Hebrews 3:12-15
12 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
14 We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.
15 As has just been said: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion."
The early Christians met daily to worship God. Today people think that once a week is too much. Some even think that salvation is guaranteed because they used to worship God, but they are hell bound, thinking that God owes them something. You can tell a tree by the fruit it bears.
Hebrews 9:28
28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Salvation is getting ready, staying ready, and walking away from sin.
Hebrews 10:26-27
26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
After someone has come to know right from wrong, and believes that Jesus died for his sins, but he is not controlling his sinful nature, according to God’s word, he is hell bound. Jesus died for our sins. He did not die for our commitments.
Hebrews 11:6
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
We have to seek God through Jesus, there is no other way. We have to seek Him with all of our heart, soul, and strength.
Hebrews 12:14
14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
If we, as Christian people, would go deep into God’s word, we would understand that we have to be holy, and live holy lives in order to spend eternity with God. We have to stop being lukewarm, and start walking daily toward heaven with Jesus. You can tell a tree by the fruit it bears. Again, I say that 75 – 80% of Christians are lukewarm. God says, “I will spew you out of my mouth.”
James 1:14-15
14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
A good illustration is a sheep and a hog. You can get a hog out of a mud hole, and wash him and he will go right back to the mud hole. A sheep, if they accidentally fall into a mud hole, will climb out and walk away, not to return.
James 2:14
14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?
James 2:26
26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
James 4:7-8
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:17
17 Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.
Disobeying God is sin. That is the reason 1/3 of the angels were thrown out of heaven. They were already in heaven, and got thrown out because of disobedience. Do you think that we can disobey God and go to heaven? Jesus died for our sins.
James 5:19-20
19 My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back,
20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
We should pray for one another, warn each other, and encourage each other.
1 Peter 1:15-16
15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do;
16 for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."
Even though we are not perfect, we are to strive for perfection. Die to earthly things, and live for heavenly things. Without holiness, no one will see the Lord.
1 Peter 2:11
11 Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.
Remember, we were put in this world to prepare for the new heaven and earth, so we are in the world, but not of this world, and we thought that we were just accidentally born? No, God planned us all. If we yield to our sinful desires, we will wind up in hell. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can control our sinful desires.
1 Peter 4:18
18 And, If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"
Hell is a lot easier to go to, but heaven is worth the struggle. We have to get our spiritual house in order, and keep it in order by the help of the Holy Spirit who we find by feeding on God’s word daily.
1 Peter 5:8-9
8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
Jesus died for our sins. Salvation if free, but we have to fight daily to resist temptation, which will turn us away from the straight path that Jesus made that leads us to heaven. Now, that’s work! So, faith without works is dead.
2 Peter 1:10
10 Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall,
If we make sure we stay away from things that are sinful, and follow Jesus, we are on our way to spending eternity with God. Jesus paid the price for our sins. We have to pay the price to follow Him.
2 Peter 3:11
11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives
2 Peter 3:14
14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.
2 Peter 3:17
17 Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.
1 John 2:6
6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
1 John 2:17
17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
1 John 3:6-7
6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
1 John 3:9
9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.
2 John 1:6
6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
2 John 1:8
8 Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
Remember, faith without works is dead. Jesus died for our sins. That was and is a free gift, but it is work and hard work to stay away from sin, because we were born with a sinful nature. We must be born again. Resist the devil in Jesus’ name, and he will flee from you.
Revelation 2:11
11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.
Matthew 10:22
22 All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
We have to stand firm with Jesus to the end. If we should fall, we have to get up and start again.
If you read these 95 verses every day, and be obedient to what it says till Jesus sends for your soul, and keep a prayer in your heart for your loved ones and friends daily, then you will be sending rewards to Heaven to be waiting for you.
Do you want to go to heaven when you die? Then get into God’s word, the Bible, and find out what pleases God. God made us in his own image. After they got older, I told my children, who I love
very much, that they were very lucky, because I had not planned any of them, and indeed, I did not,
but God planned all of them. All of us were born at just the right time and place that He wanted us
in. It might appear an accident, but we are all part of God’s plan. He placed a soul in us that will live
forever, but because of sin, we now have to make a choice.
The most important thing you can do in life is to start reading God’s word on a daily basis. The only way you will find God is looking for Him, even though He says that He is not far from any of us. Through Spirit-filled Christians He has brought to us easy to understand versions of the Bible. My favorite is the New International Version, but a lot of old die hard, lukewarm Christians including some preachers will say only the King James, even though the King James is less than 400 years old. Before then it was Greek and Hebrew. Satan would like for you to use the Greek and Hebrew to search for the Jehovah God,
because if you don’t find and follow God, Satan will keep you to serve him in hell. Satan does not
want you searching the Bible …period. But, if you will search the Scripture, you will find out that you
have a choice of heaven or hell. You will find out how you can spend eternity with God. If the
average person spent one-tenth of their time in the Bible, as they spend most of their time on cell
phones, text messaging, watching TV, or some type games, all these other things that keep their
minds away from God, we would again become a strong, Christian nation. Most people, without
ever realizing it choose hell over heaven.
I could tell you true stories how lukewarm church leaders and deacons worm their way into homes and take advantage of lukewarm weak willed women, let’s don’t leave out masons and preachers. There was a void made in heaven when God cast one third of the angels out. When the full number of Gentiles comes in, life as we know it, will cease. Do you want to be in that number?
Without holiness, no one will see the Lord. We are not born holy. We are born sinners. We have to become holy with the help of the Holy Spirit. Find time to read and meditate on God’s word daily. Strive for perfection; God’s word will guide you. Accept Jesus as your personal Savior. He died for your sins and left a plan and a way for you to follow. That is the Bible, which is God’s word to you. He tells us to seek him and we will find Him. The closer we come to God, the closer He will come to us. We will begin to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit as we feed on God’s word, the Bible. Remember without holiness, no one will spend eternity with God. Jesus died for our sins, so it is up to us to stop sinning.
God’s word says resist the devil and he will flee from you. You can’t stay a lukewarm Christian and go to heaven. God says I will spew you out of my mouth. Paul said that he was not perfect, but he was striving for perfection, looking forward and not looking back. He was on his way to spend eternity with God. Don’t let anyone guarantee your salvation. Only God can do that. You have to want to spend eternity with God. That begins now, so wake up, forget about earthly things, and look up, concentrate on heavenly things. We are either going to heaven or hell. God says choose this day which master you will serve. You will have to choose again tomorrow.
What is our problem? Are we afraid we can’t stay with God? Is that the reason we want salvation guaranteed? Well, would you stay in heaven daily? Salvation is an ongoing thing that will never end. Only God can and will guarantee salvation, provided we stay with Him. According to Billy Sunday, “Angels are angels because they do God’s will. When they refuse to do God’s will, they become devils.” If you want to feel the love of God, just praise Him. If you are looking for God, you will find Him in His word, the Bible. We have to prepare our spiritual soil. This is digging into God’s word. Like the farmer prepares the soil for planting, then we have to cultivate like the farmer.
God wants us to work out our plan of salvation. Then we can get off milk, and feed on the word. This we will need to do till Jesus comes. God said if we would seek Him, everything else will be given to us. After 50 years of reading and studying, and searching God’s word, I understand the void that was made in heaven when God removed all those angels who disobeyed Him. I understand and believe that they will be replaced with Gentile believers.
If the lukewarm Christians who are sitting straddle of the fence would get down and get in the
Bible and follow Jesus, the void would be filled and Jesus would return. That void will be filled with people who are striving for perfection, even though we are not perfect, and striving to be holy even though we are not holy. Jesus came and died for our sins and sent the Holy Spirit back to help with perfection and holiness, but we have to put forth the effort. Why do we think God wants people around Him who don’t want to serve Him? God is a jealous God. He does not want any part of people who serve Satan. You are either serving God or Satan daily. You are either lukewarm or serving God with all your heart, soul, mind, body, and strength.
God sent Jesus to die for our sins, not our commitments. We have to be committed. Faith without works is dead. Don’t think you are walking with God, just because your name is on a church roll. Billy Sunday said, “After a Christian starts living for the Lord, if he looks back, it is only a question of time before he goes back to his old ways.” We must enlist in God’s service for the rest of our lives. I challenge churches to check their records. How many lukewarm Christians have turned back to their old ways? How many lukewarm Christians, who are active in the church, had a part of them leaving the church? Billy Sunday says, “A politician will work harder to win a vote than a church will do to win a soul.” I
believe the hardest thing with salvation is trying to win a person to God who thinks they are already
saved. John 3:16 in the King James states that a man should not lose his salvation. “Should not,” it
did not say “would not.”
The problem with churches today, instead of winning souls to God, they want to argue that their church is the only way. The Baptist people want to guarantee salvation. The Church of Christ says you have to belong to that building called the Church of Christ. The Methodist folks argue over sprinkling versus immersion baptism. Others believe that you have to speak in tongues. What we really need is to believe in Jesus Christ and Him shedding His blood for out sins, and showing us the way to heaven.
In following Paul’s instructions on how to get off of milk and onto solid Christian food, is a full time commitment. In the late 1800’s Billy Sunday stated that, “Half of the church members have never been converted.” I believe that number today is 75 – 80 %. We have to live religion. So many church members know nothing about the Bible. Some preachers will take a text from the Bible and get as far from it as the east is from the west. The only revelation we have of Jesus is through the Bible. It is hard work to win souls for God. It is also hard work to stay close to God. Again, the Bible says that faith without works is
dead. Everything has to come through Jesus. If a lost person can’t tell that you are a Christian, then
how can you bring him to Christ? We sit in our fine homes, and see our surroundings go to hell. If
we don’t let go of a lot of the things we hold onto, these things will drag us into hell.
We need to remember that life is not about us. We exist for God’s purpose. God did not plan heaven on earth. He planned a new heaven and a new earth, where we could spend an eternity with Him. We were put here on earth to make the most important decision that we will ever make. That decision is a choice to follow Him or to follow Satan, and it is an everyday thing. God said choose you this day who you will serve. If we don’t take up the cross and follow Him daily, we are headed for hell, and no coming back. The Bible says God will work in you giving you the desire to obey Him and the power to do what
pleases Him.
God is a jealous God, and He demands that we love Him with all of our heart, soul, body, and strength. God put us here to serve Him and plans to bring us to heaven to serve Him. If we are not serving Him here on earth, why would we think that He would bring us to heaven? God has no plans to change us, if we are not willing to change ourselves. God sent Jesus to die for our sins, so like the woman caught in adultery, Jesus said, “I forgive you your sins. Now go your way and stop sinning.”
If you don’t understand by now what salvation is all about, go back and read Paul’s letters again. You need to get a New Testament that you can understand. The Holy Spirit will help you with this. Spend every day reading and meditating in it. If you think you don’t have the time, be careful or you will wind up in hell. What will time be like then? Forget about earthly things. Forget about denominations, and concentrate on salvation.
When we are born, our parents or someone makes sure that we are fed and taken care of. When we are older, we feed and take care of ourselves. Satan causes a lot of people to misuse their bodies for his benefit. Not only to degrade their bodies, but destroying themselves. He also entices them to use their bodies to lead other people astray. The way they act, dress, and carry themselves. What they say is, “Look at me.” And that is exactly what Satan wants. He will show you off like a personal trainer. God says be careful that you don’t fall yourself when attempting to help someone else. Our souls will either spend eternity in heaven with God or in hell with Satan. Now, who had you rather spend eternity with?
The choice is yours. That body that you are so proud of is not going anywhere. Only our souls are.
God says that we are ingrafted branches to make his chosen people, the Jews, jealous. He says to be careful how you conduct your life, or He will pluck you out of His tree of life, and cast you into hell. If the lukewarm Christians would come back to God, we would have a great revival, and I am led to believe that full number that God talks about will be ready for heaven, and that, my friend, will bring Christ back. If people can’t tell that we are Christians in our everyday life, do you think God can tell? I Corinthians 6:20 states – you were bought at a price, therefore honor God with your body.
This book is small, but it has some of the most important Scripture verses taken from the New International Version Bible the New Testament, which are Paul’s writings to us Gentiles. If we would spend time in this book, along with the New Testament, then we could ask for wisdom and understanding, and God would send the Holy Spirit to guide us in our everyday walk with Jesus. But remember, Satan wants to keep you on his side, which is a lot easier, but in the end will send you to hell. Only Satan will keep you from this book and the New Testament, but God will draw you if you are willing.
If we could have enough faith to believe that Jesus was here on earth at one time, then we would have enough faith to believe that He is coming back to claim those who are ready. The question is, are we ready? If we have enough faith to arise every morning believing that this was the day that Jesus was coming back, then our faith would grow. Then we would have enough faith to know that the Holy Spirit was sent back to us. After Jesus went back to heaven, He said that He could not be with everyone everywhere at the same time, but that the Holy Spirit could, so if we are walking with Jesus every day, the Holy Spirit is walking with us to protect and guide. Paul says that if you will live by the Spirit, you will not carry out the desires of the sinful nature. If you should accidentally fall into sin, and you are one of God’s sheep, you will get out, but if you are Satan’s hog, you will stay there. The Holy Spirit is everywhere, warning everyone to come to God through Jesus, and if you reject the Holy Spirit, that is the unpardonable sin, and you are hell bound. That is the only thing that God will not forgive us for,…rejecting the Holy Spirit.
What is sin? According to God’s word, the Bible, which is all we have to go by, (which by the way, is all we need), sin is rejecting God. If we will read and study, trust and obey God’s word, we are headed in the right direction. We were born in sin, but God sent His Son who shed his blood and died on the cross for our sins. We are forgiven if we accept Jesus, stay with Him, and yield not to sin. I hate to hear people say, “I am a sinner.” By the way, Satan loves to hear you say it. We become sinners when we are tempted and yield to the temptation. Now, if you are a Christian, (which means Christ-like), you are tempted
everyday. But being tempted is not a sin. Yielding to temptation is a sin, so the next time you hear someone say, “I am a sinner” tell him to stop it. Quit yielding to temptation. Get the thought out of your mind by telling Satan to get behind you in the name of Jesus. Then start praising God and having good thoughts.
Read the book of James everyday if you need to. He was Jesus’ half brother on earth. I don’t believe anyone would know Jesus better than James. He was raised up with Him. James warns us over and over again to not let temptation lead us into sin and away from God. If we are not yielding to temptation, then our sins have been forgiven.
Salvation is free. Holding on is work. Ask, and you shall receive. It is not God’s will that anyone should perish, but it is Satan’s will. And we are in Satan’s territory. Salvation if free, but we have to stay close to God to keep from having a spiritual miscarriage. God chose Christians to do his work with the help of the Holy Spirit. We don’t become holy overnight. We start the journey toward heaven, not looking back. The time between accepting Jesus as our personal Savior and striving to become holy is a lifelong journey. We are only here on earth because God put us here at the right time and place to make the greatest decision that we will ever make. He gave us the New Testament in easy to understand words. We have no excuse. He gave us the Holy Spirit to live in us and help us on our spiritual journey. This
earth is not our home. Paul says keep looking up, don’t look back. Our home is in heaven for eternity. We need to live our life free from sin by not yielding to temptation. Yielding to temptation will cause a spiritual miscarriage.
Why do we have to become holy to spend eternity with God? The reason is because God hates sin. So without holiness, no one will see God. If a Christian thinks they can’t become holy, they are on their way to a spiritual miscarriage. God says I will spew you out of my mouth. Remember, heaven is forever, and so is hell. God says choose everyday which one you will serve. It is work to seek heaven over hell, because Satan won’t give up until we all go up. He will put stumbling blocks in our pathway everyday, and if we are not careful, will cause a spiritual miscarriage. God warns us don’t let anything keep you from going to heaven. If our hand causes us to sin, he said cut if off. If our eye causes us to have
a spiritual miscarriage, he says pluck it out. It is better to lose parts of our body, than to spend
eternity in hell. It is easy to have a spiritual miscarriage, but hard work to keep from having one.
God does not tempt us. Satan does, and that is when the flag should go up. If we yield to temptation, we are doing it for Satan, and God says be careful, or I will spew you out of my mouth. Stay close to God which is hard work and he will stay close to us. We either go with God, or we go with Satan. The choice is ours, and it is an everyday thing. The only reason a man or woman wants their salvation guaranteed, is because they have their minds on earthly things, and earthly things will cause a spiritual miscarriage. God chose to spread the word through people about heaven and spending eternity with Him. Why did he choose man to warn people about hell? Could it be that it would strengthen our spiritual life and help us stay closer to Him? If we are encouraging people about heaven, then we will get excited about it ourselves. If we warn people about hell, then we remind ourselves about the danger of a spiritual miscarriage.
I have begun to realize after many years of observing people, most people want to know what is the least they have to do to be saved, but there is no least. It is all the way or none. We have to believe that Jesus came and died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. We have to forget about earthly things and start our journey toward heaven. We do this by feeding on God’s word daily, by reading and meditating on spiritual things.
Remember Satan only comes after you if you are following Jesus. He already had you because of sin, and planned to keep you, but Jesus by the help of the Holy Spirit will carry you through to completion if you are willing to follow him. This is where the struggle begins. God says when we are tempted, he will show us a way out, but we have to take it. If we fall, He will help us up, but we have to want to get up. God says that if we will resist the devil, he will flee from us, but we have to resist him ourselves. Jesus says that if you will reach out to me, I will reach out to you. If you go away from me, I will turn away from you. Satan will never give up until we are taken up. Temptation will always be there. We have to resist
temptation, or it will become sin, and sin after it is fully mature, will send us to hell.
I remember an old song, “Heaven is Just a Sin Away.” It was not a spiritual song, but it had a spiritual meaning. Sin is the only thing that separates us from God and Paradise in heaven. Another song I have recently listened to on a Christian satellite radio station, tells us about things that won’t be in heaven. No grass to cut, no mosquitoes to bite, no diseases, not too hot or too cold, no health problems, no starvation, it will be just a beautiful new heaven and earth. The beautiful city of Jerusalem with 12 gates that will never be closed, where Christians can come back and forth, and the Jehovah God will be there with everyone, but the journey to get there is following and obeying Jesus every day.
If we knew that Jesus was coming back in one week, would that be enough time for us to get ready to meet Him? Or would we need two weeks, maybe a month? How long? How much time would we need to warn our loved ones, our friends and others? We need to arise every morning thanking God for another day to get ready to meet Jesus in the air. We need to thank God for another day to warn and encourage our family and friends to get ready and stay ready.
Let’s try to visualize the new heaven and new earth. After we have spent 1000 years here with Jesus, then there will be a new heaven and a new earth. I believe the New Jerusalem will come down and sit on the new earth forever with God dwelling therein I believe that the new earth will be like the Garden of Eden for us Gentiles. Can you imagine the beauty of the new earth? Jesus says that you can’t imagine what He has in store for us. Remember, He said that the New Jerusalem will have 12 gates that will never be shut. We can come and go anytime. Wow, what joy and peace! But, we have to get ready and stay
ready. We have to encourage our family and friends to get ready and stay ready. We have to encourage anyone that we come in contact with to get ready and stay ready.
God commands us to be a witness for Him. Concentrate on the New Testament, especially Paul’s writings. I highly recommend the New International Version of the New Testament. It helped to change my life. Also spend time in James and other books. This earth is just a little dot compared to the universe, but God knows where it is. He even knows when a little sparrow falls to the ground. Don’t think He doesn’t know our every move. I also believe that after Jesus has spent 1000 years on this earth, this earth will become hell itself, so let’s make sure that we don’t stay here to see. We can do this by trusting and following Jesus. We have to follow Jesus everyday, because this might be the day that He returns.
Conclusion
Pray for the critics that will try to discourage you from believing what is written in this book and what Paul has written in the New Testament. They will surely come. Satan will make sure of that. You can keep Satan away from you with God’s help. Pray and ask God everyday to keep Satan away from you. We have to put forth the effort. God says, “Come to me, and I will come to you.”
God only draws us, he doesn’t command us. He wants us to follow Jesus.
Remember, the critics are bound to come, but God says, “He who stands firm to the end, will be saved.”
Read the following to understand more about Jesus!
"You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols,
from blood, from the meat of strangled animals
and from sexual immorality.
You will do well to avoid these things."
Acts 15:29
What is Marriage?
Is it a license that makes people faithful to each other?
Is it a preacher performing a ceremony?
or is it a commitment?
Abraham sent to his family to get Isaac a wife. She was dropped off at his tent.
Jacob had to work 14 years for his two wives.
Read Genesis chapters 24 and 29
Deuteronomy 21
I Samuel 25, 40, and 44
II Samuel 3, 13, and 16
According to God's Word, marriage is loving the Lord with all our hearts, soul, and body,
and loving our spouse the same.
All Scripture is God-breathed!!
What is sin?
The disciples were led by the Holy Spirit what to send to the Gentiles:
Acts 15:29 - You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.
Don"t worship your phone: Use your phone to worship God.
Jesus said that many are called, but few are chosen,
the reason being that people are not willing
to die to their sinful nature.
The world says, "I can't" but the CROSS says, "I CAN!"
In the Beginning was the Word - JESUS.
The Word became flesh - JESUS.
Jesus said, "The Word is my body. Feed on it."
John Chapter 6
Taken from the lyrics of a wonderful song,
"Have we done all that we could do in the time
that He gave us?"
The Bible is the voice of God for those who want to go to Heaven!
It is life insurance for your soul!
The old saying, "The Devil made me do it," is TRUE, but we can't go to Heaven making deals with the Devil!
To make it to the Promised Land, we have to build a spiritual relationship with our Heavenly father.
There is no other way. The only way to build this spiritual relationship is in God’s Word. I spent the last fifty years in the Bible to see if there was another way. The more time we spend reading and studying the Word, the closer we get to our Heavenly father.
Paul was sent to the Gentiles, we are not God’s chosen people. We are ingrafted branches. After Jesus died for our sins and went back to Heaven, he brought Paul up to the third Heaven and told him what we must do to make it to Heaven. Paul came back to earth and wrote half of the New Testament to show us the right road to Heaven.
The most important book of the New Testament for Gentiles is Romans. We need to read this book daily – chapter by chapter – not verse by verse. We have to have the help of the Holy Spirit to understand it. We have to be careful because Satan will help us read what he wants us to understand.
There are a lot of New Testaments on the market, but the Holy Spirit led me to the International version. We need to read several chapters a day and pray for the Holy Spirit to help us understand what God wants us to know. We don’t need to say we don’t have time to read two or three chapters a day, because God may take our time away. Satan will do all he can to keep us away from the straight and narrow road, but if we are going to make it to the Promised Land, we will have to stay on the Roman Road. We believe the International version is the best version to understand.
I encourage you to read 2 – 3 chapters in Romans every day till Jesus comes! Many are called, but few are chosen.
Pray daily that you are chosen!
The ONLY way out of this world is UP!
To stand at the judgement and have someone you love to cry out and say, "Please don't leave me here to burn!" will be hard. We have a book of sermons that will help you help them. These books are FREE for you to share with your family and friends at 49 Central Academy Rd, Batesville, MS
Remember, Satan won’t give up until we are taken up.
We have to be obedient to the Word.
The only way to make it to Heaven and the Promised Land is to give your body to Jesus.
We have to feed our bodies daily from Paul's letters -
Chapter by Chapter,...not Verse by Verse!
Romans being the most important Book.
The Bible is the body of Jesus. He said, "Feed on me daily."
Train yourself to be Holy.
Without holiness, no one will see the Lord.
The Bible says that what we spend most of our free time on is our god.
Use your cell phone to read chapters from Romans every day.
Plan for the life forever in the new earth!
If reading the Bible every day and being obedient to what it says is foolish,...
then we are headed in the Wrong Way!
We have two choices in life,.... only two!
We can seek our Heavenly Father with all our heart, soul, body, and strength daily,... or we can stay here and burn!
All roads lead to hell. Only one narrow road leads to Heaven.
Jesus said it was very narrow. We have to stay in the Word (which is Jesus.)
He is the Word. He said only a few would find it.
You have to have the Holy Spirit to help you get across the Jordan into the Promised Land.
The Holy Spirit is found by feeding on the Word daily.
Luke-warm Christians have blinders on (this includes a lot of church members and preachers.)
Feeding on God's Word daily (which is Jesus' body) will help to remove the blinders.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are about the same.
Jesus loved John, so start reading a chapter a day from John through revelation.
Then start all over again.
Read a chapter a day from Romans, and start all over again.
The Old Testament was written for the Jews.
The New Testament was written for the Gentiles/
We are Gentiles.
We need a system for Daily bible Readings.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are pretty much the same.
I start with John. (John was Jesus' favorite.)
I read a chapter a day beginning in John and going through Revelation.
I spend extra time in Romans every day.
I read Chapter 6 every day, plus a chapter a day 1 through 16, and then start all over again.
The same goes for Revelation - a chapter a day, then start all over again.
Then pray that the Holy spirit will come take control of your life.
For years I went to a Baptist church, and then I spent several years in a Methodist church.
I now attend New Hope Church of God, where I should have been all along.
I call it God's Church.
We are located on Hwy 35 North in Batesville, MS next to the big cross.
The way of the CROSS leads home.
P. S. Lay up treasures in Heaven by encouraging Family and Friends to go to www.romanroadbibleministry.com and Pass It On!
The following is taken from the Preface in the New International Version New Testament:
